On Sunday, October 11th, Florence Township Fire Departmentâs emergency vehicles were blessed at Saints Stephen and Barnabas Episcopal Churchâs annual Service of Appreciation for Police, Firefighters, and EMTâs. We hope that the kids enjoyed themselves and hopefully we have inspired even one to becoming a firefighter in the future. On this day we remember our loved ones who perished in the events of 9/11. These plaques were damaged during the fire at the Lodge on July 12th 2015. Hi! The fire district currently employs 10 career firefighters and roughly 30 EMS per diems as well as around 10 volunteer firefighters. Florence County is located in northeastern Wisconsin on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan border about 1.5 hours north of Green Bay. NFPA now estimates you have as little as 2 minutes to escape from your home once the smoke detector alerts you a fire. Through the generosity of golfers and sponsors, we were able to establish the Richard Yurcisin Florence Township Emergency Services Award.
